چکیده
This work presents novel compact High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) microstrip resonators based on Hilbert fractal curves. Their miniaturization performance has been investigated, emphasizing the parameters which allow to obtain a good trade off between compact size and quality factor. Hilbert resonators with different arrangements have been designed and assessed by using full wave simulators. I n ader tu experimentally verify our analysis, a four pole quasi elliptic filter, in the cascade quadruplet configuration, with 5 close tu 2.45GHz, have been fabricated by patterning a 10x10mm2YBCO film on MgO substrates. Minimum insertion losses of the order of (0.1-0.2) dB have been measured. Index Terms Microstrip filters, High-Temperature Superconductors, Fractals, Microwave devices, Mobile Communication.

Harmonic balance algoritlun to model nonlinear effects in HTS filters subject to cdma signals - Microwave Symposium Digest, 2003 IEEE MTT-S International
We discuss an Haimonic Balance algorithm to analyze High Temperature Superconducting Circuits (HTS) subject to wideband signals, such as t h e ones used in C D M A wireless systems. Undersampling is used to discretize and down-convert t h e bandpass signal resulting from the weak HTS nonlinearities, and this has to b e taken into account when performing t imedomain calculations of the nonlinear...
متن کاملMetal mesh couplers using optical tunneling effect at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths - Microwave Symposium Digest, 1994., IEEE MTT-S International
A new metal mesh coupler that makes use of a tunneling effect of evanescent waves between a metal mesh and a dielectric plate, has been proposed as a quasi-optical component for millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths. Theoretical calculation and experimental measurement performed from 40 GHz to 60 GHz show that the transmittance of the coupler can be changed more than 50 % for the variation o...
متن کاملEfficient transient simulation of transmission lines - Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002 IEEE MTT-S International
0 Abstract The paper focuses on revealing the salient structural aspects of a new transmission-line model with a view to exploiting them for gains in efficiency and accuracy. The new transmission-line model has as its basis the Telegraphers Equations but the manner of solution is what distinguishes the new approach from existing transmissionline simulation techniques. The technique is based on ...
متن کاملDesign of Compact Hilbert Microstrip Bandpass Filter For Modern Wireless Communication Systems
This paper presents a new microwave narrow-band bandpass filter with a miniaturized size for use in modern wireless communication systems. The proposed filter design topology is based on a single-mode microstrip resonator constructed in the form of Hilbert fractal geometries from 2 nd to 4 iteration levels. The space-filling property the proposed filter topologies possess, has found to produce ...

This paper introduces a new microwave narrowband bandpass filter with a miniaturized size as well as adequate transmission and return loss characteristics for use in modern wireless communication systems. The proposed filter design topology is based on a single-mode microstrip resonators constructed in the form of Hilbert fractal geometries of the 2 and 3 iteration levels. Filter structures hav...
